What If Your Impact Is Bigger Than You Think?

Yesterday, I was ready to shut it down.

I was drained.

Questioning my value as a coach.

Wondering if it was time to take a step back.

Then a client from more than two years ago got on a call with me.

She didn’t reach out for new coaching.
She just wanted to tell me what those sessions meant.

She said our work together changed how she makes decisions… professionally AND personally.
The impact of our coaching calls has lasted.
And it still shows up in how she leads today.

I had no idea.

The Leadership Lesson

We don’t always get to see the full reach of our impact.
Sometimes the seeds you plant don’t bloom for years.
But that doesn’t mean they didn’t take root.

As a leader, you will say things people carry with them.
You will model behaviors that others mirror.
You will shape moments that influence how someone else shows up.

That matters.

So if you’re doubting yourself, if you’re wondering whether it’s worth it, remember this:

You may not always get credit.
But your impact doesn’t disappear just because it isn’t echoed back right away.

Lead like it matters. Because it does.
And someone, someday, may surprise you with proof.
