The Tyne Group: Our Origin Story

I discovered executive coaching by accident.

In August 2016, I started my Executive MBA at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. It was a cohort of established professionals, each of us strong in our own lane and advancing our academic resume.

About six months in my coursework, a pattern emerged.

When leadership opportunities presented themselves to members of my cohort… new roles, expanded scope, bigger teams… people came to me. They wanted to think out loud about whether to take the role. They wanted to talk through compensation. They wanted to sort through the shift from high performing individual contributor to people leader.

I was coaching before I knew what coaching was. In April 2017, I bought the domain for The Tyne Group and built a website.

Life moved quickly after that. And The Tyne Group was put on hold through an international relocation and global pandemic.

By January of 2021, I was back in the United States with a newborn, and decided to go ‘all in’ on my dream. The Tyne Group officially came to life on the floor of my master bedroom closet. I had a 6-year-old laptop balanced on a box of Easter decorations and a lot of determination.

I coached one client at a time.
Then I started speaking.
Then teams began reaching out.

The work expanded because the demand expanded.

In November 2024, I earned my Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coaching Federation. Committing to the rigor of the profession sharpened my practice and elevated the outcomes my clients experience.

What started as curiosity fueled by determination has grown into an executive coaching and leadership development firm serving leaders across industries and around the world.

The Tyne Group was built on two beliefs:

Hard work compounds.
Leadership done authentically changes lives.

From the closet floor to international stages, my kids have watched this from the beginning. That’s what I’m most proud of and what drives me to keep growing.

Thanks taking time to learn more about me, my story, and how I built The Tyne Group.
